Detect the barking, review the findings, build your case.
BarkCatcher detects and timestamps dog barking in long recordings.
Detection that knows a bark from all the neighborhood noise
BarkCatcher runs a smart audio model right on your device, tuned to dog vocalizations. It picks the real barking out of long recordings and ignores the birds, traffic, or a slammed door that a simple loudness meter would flag — on a single file or a whole week of files all at once.
- Tuned to detect dog vocalizations
- A confidence score on every detection
- Low, Medium, or High sensitivity selection
Statistics that build the case
Every detection is stamped with a wall-clock time read from your recording, then rolled up into the numbers a complaint needs: how often, how long, and exactly when. Set your quiet hours and BarkCatcher tallies which barks occur during those times.
- Barks per hour, total barking time, longest session
- Quiet-hours violations — events and minutes
- Time-of-day histogram and full density timeline
Review before you submit
BarkCatcher gets you most of the way; you make it airtight. Step through each detected event with its waveform, play the audio clip, and confirm or reject it. BarkCatcher recomputes the stats over your confirmed events and shows precision live — a human-checked log is far stronger evidence than raw model output.
- Waveform plus one-click clip playback per event
- Confirm or reject from the keyboard
- Live precision calculation; export the reviewed log
A court-ready report
Export a self-contained, clickable report — or “Save as PDF” for a document you can hand to a landlord, HOA, or animal-control officer. Each report carries a full chain of custody, and the analysis settings are recorded right alongside the findings, so it stands up to scrutiny.
- Clickable HTML report and print-ready PDF
- Chain of custody: file hash, size, timestamps, version
- Export the whole case as a shareable .zip
Private by design, encrypted on disk
Your audio never leaves your computer — there's no cloud and nothing to upload. BarkCatcher even encrypts each case on disk with a key kept in your operating system's keychain, so a case opens only on the machine that made it. Exported cases are unencrypted, but you can delete the original case file from your machine after export if you like.
- 100% on-device analysis — no uploads
- Cases encrypted with a per-machine key
- It's your data — delete it anytime
Native on Windows, macOS & Linux
BarkCatcher is a real desktop app, not a browser tab — built to chew through hours of audio reliably. It decodes the common formats out of the box, with no extra codecs to install.
- Native apps for Windows, macOS, and Linux
- Reads wav, mp3, flac, m4a/aac, and ogg — no ffmpeg
- Self-contained; nothing extra to download
